I attended PS 156 and JHS 59, and I graduated from AJHS in 1962. I went to PS 156, JHS 59 and Springfield Gardens HS grad 1969. One lives in Mount Kisco NY and the other lives in Philly PA. It had more of a Long Island "feel." I'm currently living in Princeton, NJ. Life revolved around school, the schoolyard, the LJC, little league and later hanging out on Merrick Road at such establishments as Carmine's Pizza. I loved my childhood and will never forget all my friends who lived there and who I grew up with. It's nice to see I'm not the only one with pangs of nostalgia about Laurelton. I have fond memories of Laurelton, riding bicycles, having hoola hoop contests, playing hop scotch. A few of you have contacted me with lyrics--I had forgotten them. I went to PS 156, then JHS 59 with Alan Ross, Bruce Cassidy, George Tenenbaum, Jeff Weiss, Barry Lucas. Website: too, have many wonderful memories of Laurelton life. Now living in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, would love to reconnect with long lost friends. We would both love to hear from any old friends from JHS59 Choral Music Class, the LJC (by the way, Rabbi Teplitz is now living in Boca Raton, and still going strong), USY, etc. Would like to hear from anyone in my class (1960) and might remember me. I remember indoor recess games, standing on big white circles painted on the black floor.… continue reading »
